JEFFREY L. TANNER, M.Ed.

As a founder and CEO of Formation Community, Jeff serves as a fractional Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) for CEOs and senior leaders of $5M-$500M organizations who are navigating key inflection points in their leadership and organizational development.

He trains leaders to grow using the The Formation Method, a system of 8 practices that guides people in care, collaboration, and creation. He is a cofounder of FLDWRK, a work collective in Costa Mesa, Common Good Network, a community for emerging leaders and their social purpose organizations, and Hildegard College, an alternative college blending classical Christian education with formation and entrepreneurship. Jeff and his wife, Samantha, serve as elders at Redemption Church.

“We’re trained from birth to fall into line and regurgitate information, so my goal as a leader and teacher is to reinstate curiosity into learning and then guide people into creating solutions to interesting problems, all with a focus for the common good.”

He is the author of Best Workday Ever: A Guide to Meaningful Productivity and is completing a first draft of his upcoming book, Becoming a Formation Leader. Read more of his work at jltanner.com.
